In 1999, Hale was bound over from the Juvenile Division, on charges of Felonious Assault and Discharging a Firearm into a Habitation. He subsequently was convicted of Felonious Assault and Discharging a Firearm into a Habitation, which involved firing several rounds into a residence containing four victims. He was sentenced to four years in prison on these charges plus an additional three years on the gun specification to be served consecutively. In January of 2002, he was convicted in Butler County of the Rape of a child under the age of thirteen, with force. He was sentenced by the Butler County Common Pleas Court to serve a term of ten years for the charge of Rape plus life in prison, as a result of his conviction of the specification. He was also determined to be a sexual predator.
